TOURISM IN RAJASTHAN

........This note is to say that we enjoyed our trip extremely. All the arrangements our of highest order and so were the hotels, including the Clarks at Agra and Jaipur. The best hotel of course was Umaid Bhawan in Jodhpur. We had slight problem and delay in checking in to the Clarks in Agra where they first said that they could not give us the rooms adjacent to each other but eventually they did. All the guides were good and gave us appropriate advice at most places. ............



........All the airport pick-ups and deliveries were made on time and the vans were in excellent condition. We especially appreciated your taking our luggage back to Delhi from Jodhpur. The hotels were very good, but two were spectacular...the Amar Villas and Devi Garh Palace. But I am sure you know that already. We will certainly recommend you to all our friends. ........Your staff was absolutely professional and we especially enjoyed being with Arvind and Sanjay who made out travel al that more enjoyable. The hotels were, for the most part marvelous, particularly, The Imperial, Amarvilas, Devi Gar, and Chatra Sagar. The Guides were excellent at the various cities and towns and the travel was well thought out............





........Our chauffeur was fantastic, we felt very comfortable in the car with him. He drove very safely and made sure that every time we were finished with a visit or dinner... he was there picking us up. We never had to wait for him or try to get his attention. We also appreciated Bhawani's help and service...........





........The selection of hotels was incredible, I've visited lots of resorts and hotels in many countries but the Udaivilas in Udaipur just really rocked. We really enjoyed the great service; food, spa and atmosphere, the surroundings and views were marvelous. Also the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur was excellent, we loved everything about it. Congratulations and keep on the good work, i will certainly recommend to any of our friends to contact Compass Tours when they will travel to India. Your attention to detail is 1st class. Very hard to find these days..........






........Siamo così finalmente partiti da Dheli a bordo della fantastica Tata 800 verde pisello con il simbolo del nostro dio protettore (Ganesh) disegnato sul cofano con le dita, dal nostro autista il mitico KISHAN . Qui occorrerebbe aprire un capitolo a parte su di lui ma basterà dire che alla fine del viaggio dopo aver percorso più di 3000 Km assieme, averne imparato abitudini e vizi, aver conosciuto la sua famiglia e condiviso paure, speranze e progetti per il futuro, anche ora che il pensiero torna a lui il cuore si gonfia e il groppo alla gola si fa grande..... L'itinerario spiccio ed in ordine sparso : Dheli, Agra, Jaipur, Fatephur Sikri, Udaiphur, Jodphur, Pushkar, Jaisalmer,Mandawa,Bikaner. In ognuno di questi luoghi abbiamo fatto esperienze indimenticabili e vissuto momenti lieti;imparato da tutti e respirato India. ............





........One of the things we really liked was that pricing and costs were very clear. When any Indian travel agency books a hotel, tour, etc. they generally get a discount of 10% or more. Durjay explained to us that he charges the price we would have gotten (undiscounted) but then adds in extras. For example, we had a day in Delhi with driver and guide at no cost. This was a nice change from some other agents we talked with that had a la carte pricing but you could never be sure exactly what the total would be............





........The Pushkar Fair was wonderful. We enjoyed the village safari at Jodhpur. We felt that the Village Theme Restaurant at Jaipur could have been left out, as we had seen most of what was on show earlier on our tour. Also, the meal provided at the Village was not a tasty delight at all. All in all, it was a wonderful holiday with enormous variety. We consider that it would have been difficult to improve on it. Our guide and driver, Bhawani and Rajesh were very attentive, constantly looking after our every need. We had great fun with them and they seemed to understand our sense of humour. We really enjoyed our days/evenings with them............





........Bravo to another fantastic tour you arranged for our second trip to India! As a repeat guest, we can add “reliable” service to the long list of praises for Compass. As stated before, “Whenever we return to India, this wondrous and distant land, we will always go with a "Compass" at hand”. It did not occur to me how soon we would come back. Normally, we do not set foot into a country we recently visited, much less the same continent. But my husband explained that Compass is the only company we can fully trust to fulfill our wishes, especially on short notice. ...........





........Rajasthan: As you have also mentioned to us in Delhi; having Virendra with us in the rest of the tour made an amazing impact. He made sure that everything went as smooth as possible and worked real hard to make us happy. And believe me we CAN be demanding! He listened to our every wish and we think he went out of his way to make the trip a good one for us. He also familiarized us with the local traditions and culture which is usually very difficult to do as tourists. We hope that you know he is a very valuable asset for your company and we will definitely recommend him to anyone going to Rajasthan............





........We definitely want to see more of India and when we do get back we will in contact with you. We want to see more of Rajastan, the camel races and fair, India's mountains and the south...........





........We have been home from fascinating Rajasthan, India for two weeks and I wanted to thank you so much for the wonderful tour you organized for myself, husband and daughter. We were very impressed with how professional you and your tour company are. All e-mails sent to you were quickly answered. When we told you we would be in India ten days and the dates we would be arriving you quickly e-mailed back a wonderful tour. The places we were to visit sounded fascinating, the hotels sounded very interesting and the price was very good value for us............

I found him on the internet and was impressed with his prompt and thorough responses to my questions while planning my trip at short notice (June 2001). I also checked with Cox & King (right name?) but found Compass to be much more price competitive and,even more importantly, able to offer highly personalized service...........
